Braces treatment is faster today than it was years ago. Your parents probably told you of spending up to three years in braces. While technology has made braces treatment faster and more efficient, it still takes time for braces treatment to create your perfect smile.
Patients sometimes ask us if they can get their braces off earlier than expected. Most of the time, the answer is no, but there are rare occasions when braces treatment does end early.
Kanning Orthodontics plans your braces treatment in fine detail, including how long it will take. We can make adjustments during your treatment, but usually, our treatment time is accurate. Let’s take a look at why your treatment takes the time it does and what might end your treatment early.
How Long Does It Take To Get Your Braces Off?
The time in braces varies from patient to patient. The timing depends on many factors. Are we fixing one dental problem or several? Is this a young patient or an adult?
Are some of your teeth crooked, or all of them? Do you need to take a break from treatment for cavities, or will your oral hygiene hold up?
This is why the first step in braces treatment is a thorough examination. We use state-of-the-art 3D scanning technology to provide finely detailed images of your teeth, jaws, and soft tissue. It gives us a clear picture of what dental issues you may have and how we need to repair them.
From there, we create a detailed plan to perfect your smile. We know how each tooth will move and when. We create an order for your treatment, such as when we will straighten teeth, correct a crossbite, and hold a tooth in position while those around it are moved.
It’s a lot to consider and a lot to do! That’s why braces treatment takes an average of 12-24 months.
I Want My Braces Off Right Now!
We know it can be frustrating sometimes to wear braces, especially if you have breaks or repairs that need to be made frequently. It can be difficult to maintain the rules when it comes to what not to eat with braces, but it’s important to keep from damaging your braces and prolonging your treatment.
We know wearing braces can be a challenge sometimes. The team at Kanning Orthodontics is here for you. We’ll listen to any concerns and offer suggestions to make your braces treatment easier. We’ll also encourage you throughout your treatment and remind you how amazing your end result will be!
Can I Get My Braces Removed Early?
We rarely remove braces early. We really want you to get the best results possible, which is why we strongly encourage our patients to complete their treatment. One of the biggest parts of a braces treatment plan is full cooperation from the patient. Without it, we cannot get your teeth too move how we need them to, to achieve the results we want for you.
Orthodontic patients who experience frequent braces breakage may end treatment early because the added repairs become costly. We also may end treatment if patients refuse to wear rubber bands properly and in the time periods requested. We may end treatment early for patients who stop showing up to appointments. Without cooperation and caring for your braces, we cannot achieve the results we want, so it may be best to end treatment.
Please DON’T remove your braces at home, we can’t show you how to take off braces at home because it’s not safe!
How long does it take to take off braces? It’s a pretty short process! When we finish treatment, we remove the brackets and all other components in the braces removal process, get rid of the braces glue, and retainers given to you to retain your smile. Again, whether those improvements stay in place depends on the patient’s due diligence in wearing their retainers.
How Do I Pay for Braces?
We want our patients to wear their braces to the end because we know that braces are a big investment in your health. Because of the cost of braces, we want you to get the absolute best out of your investment. We make your treatment worth the time and money you are investing into your smile.
Patients may want a shorter treatment time because they think they can’t afford the complete treatment. That’s why Kanning Orthodontics works hard to make braces affordable with several financing options.
We take payments from several major insurance companies. We can help you figure out just what your policy will cover. We also accept payments through FSA (Flex Spending Account) and HSA (Health Savings Account) plans.
We do much more to make your braces treatment affordable, including keeping our down payments low. We also offer payment plans, in some cases extending those payment plans up to 36 months. That’s beyond the time people usually wear their braces!
We work to get your payments as low as $125 a month. In addition, we offer family discounts because we know once you see your amazing results, you’ll probably want your children, siblings, or even parents to have the same incredible results.
One thing you won’t see with Kanning Orthodontics is hidden fees. We will show you your costs upfront. We don’t charge later for things like retainers. You will know what you will pay before you sign on the dotted line.
At Kanning Orthodontics, we will work to make your braces treatment affordable. It’s up to you to make your braces treatment effective.
