Orthodontics for the Entire Family
Our Philosophy Serving KCRaised on a Cattle Farm, Pro Hay Raker, Orthodontist.
Dr. Parks loves being an orthodontist. Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman was her inspiration when she was younger. However, she didn’t need to move to the “Old American West” like Dr. Quinn in pursuit of her dreams to help people.
Dr. Parks was born and raised in Kingston, MO on a cattle and row crop farm. After moving to various towns and cities for schooling, she’s happily settled back in this community that feels like home. She’s proud to serve the Liberty and Kansas City area as an orthodontist at Kanning Orthodontics.
Life is full of some really tough questions. How many stars are there in the universe? How do they fill Twinkies? Does Harry Potter brush his teeth? Utter mysteries. Unanswerable. We can answer one question, though, and that question is “Who is Dr. Danielle Parks?”
Dr. Parks was born and raised a farm girl in Kingston, MO. She spent summers raking hay, planting corn and soybeans, feeding cattle, and hanging clothes on the line (yes, they actually did that!). When Dr. Parks wasn’t busy on the farm, she spent her time playing softball, reading books, or participating in her local girl scout troop. Through Girl Scouts, Dr. Parks developed a love of helping people and communities. When she had orthodontics as a teenager (she does understand how hard it is to avoid those hard and sticky candies during braces!), she realized this was the perfect way to merge her two passions. So she brought that farm life work ethic of teamwork, compassion, and dedication into her schooling.
She preserved during the hardest times of dental and orthodontic school by focusing on one goal: seeing the smiling faces of her future patients. You. Patients of all ages and backgrounds. Patients who claim that Harry Potter doesn’t brush his teeth. That’s what it’s all about for Dr. Parks. Each and every one of you.
Dr. Parks loves to exercise. Running, spinning, hiking, lifting! And she also loves sweet stuff. While working out at the gym, she’s likely envisioning what treat she wants to try this weekend. Trying pastries, donuts, ice cream, or candies from local shops is one of her passions. Feel free to send a suggestion for some awesome ones her way! The changing of the leaves, crisp morning air, and warm apple cider make fall Dr. Parks’ favorite season and nothing puts a jingle in her heart like Christmas time. Going home to reconnect with her family and the land is always a delight. Her parents and her younger brother mean the world to her. She’s warm, caring, and most of all she’s the kind of orthodontist who cares about the person in the chair.
Dr. Parks loves living in Liberty Missouri and working in an orthodontic practice. She loves farming and everything KC.
Dr. Parks attended a tiny school near her farm called Mirabile for grades K-8 and graduated from Penney High School in Hamilton, MO in 2007. Dr. Parks moved on to study at The University of Missouri-Columbia where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2011. From there she attended dental school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she graduated with honors. She went on to complete her master’s and Orthodontic residency at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry. (Yes, it is confusing. Baylor owned it originally and Texas A&M bought it later, but it’s actually located in the heart of Dallas.) While she loved the weather down south, it wasn’t enough to keep her from missing her family, the farm, and the Midwest. She returned back to Missouri to practice alongside Dr. Kanning at Kanning Orthodontics.
